What's next after Holy Week?

Now that Holy Week is over, what happens next?

The Philippines is one of the few countries in the world that celebrates Holy Week with so much hype. Processions, visita iglesias, pilgrimages, even reenactment of the crucifixion are done year after after by people who want to show their gratitude to Jesus for what he has done for us on the cross. But what happens to these people after all the "sacrifices"? In Psalms, we see that God is not after our sacrifices. What he wants is obedience, a life that is totally in sync with his plans.

No amount of sacrifice can bring us to heaven. Only by putting our faith in Jesus and receiving His act of sacrifice can we have eternal life. And he does not want us to repay him. All he wants is a life that is in total obedience to him.

The Divine Exchange

Holy Week is finally here! A time to celebrate what Jesus has done for us more than two thousand years ago. He came to Earth to fulfill God's great plan of redemption. John 3:16 says God's love for us compelled him to send His one and only son to die for us so that we might be saved. And this salvation is a gift, nothing that we deserve. But he freely gave it to us so that we may live. All we have to do is to receive it!

How great and awesome God is! I am amazed at His love!
